Miss Teen International launches second edition
03 Mar 2020
Miss Teen International Botswana 2nd edition was launched in Gaborone on Saturday with 60 finalists.
Its aim is to promote talent development and encourage the girlchild to dream.
The pageant which gave Miss Teen International Botswana 2019, Anicia Gaothusi a chance to represent Botswana in India, empowers young girls with skills, knowledge and motivation to use their talents as it enables them to participate fully in a process of social and economic development.
Miss Teen International Botswana coordinator who is also the Diamond Pageantry Academy founder, Nicole Gaelebale said she started Diamond Pageantry Academy to positively influence young girls, which they did through Miss Teen International Botswana.
Gaelebale said she intended to spend two months with the finalists before the May 30 finale.
“For preliminary activities the girls will not compete together but will be divided into two groups. Francistown preliminary activities will be on March 28 and Gaborone March 25,” she said.
These, she said would be intense since the girls would be expected to showcase their talents and would also attend a pageantry seminar.
Those making the top thirty will have two main activities being the sports challenge and project presentation.
The queen will walk away with a P20 000 prize, of which P10 000 will be cash and the rest goodies including outfits.
Michelle Ashley, Phenyo Moroka and Obakeng Anisha Mokwena will be the judges. ENDs
