RB2 Launches SMS Line
28 Oct 2019
Government radio station Radio Botswana’s commercial arm, RB2 has launched a short message system (SMS) line 17103 for more interaction between the station and the listeners.
The general manager (projects), Vuza Ziga, said the introduction of the SMS line followed realisation that RB2’s coverage of services was limited in terms of interaction with its clients.
He said the SMS line would help enhance the relationship between the station and its listeners.
“This is to give listeners a better relationship with the station, including competitions, polls, surveys, voting, games and Text-A-Request. It can help set the questions, collate the responses and answers, generate updates,” said Ziga. The sms line will be accessible from all the three mobile operator networks in Botswana.
The ViB mobile sales and marketing officer, Nyakallo Seisa said through the interactive messaging, the listeners would be able to access the station and engage on key issues and promotions. She said the platform could also give RB2 advertisers better management of responses.
Broadcasting services director, Keiterele Mathapi said the SMS line came at the right time to give the station exposure and subsequently be reached from everywhere. ENDS
