BPF promises developments in Mogoditshane

13 Oct 2019

The Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) parliamentary candidate for Mogoditshane Mr Bruce Nkgakile says he is the ideal candidate for the constituency as he has plans to bring developments that would benefit those residing in the area.

Speaking during his launch on Saturday, Mr Nkgakile said the area had employment opportunities such as the sale of imported vehicles which were dominated by foreigners.

Mr Nkgakile said such businesses should be reserved for Batswana, adding that the market for the imported vehicles was huge as people came from Namibia and Zambia to purchase the cars in Mogoditshane.

He further said the present government was leading the country towards a debt trap as it had accumulated budget deficit.

In the 2017/18 financial year, the budget had a deficit of P1.9 billion but in 2019/20 the deficit skyrocketed to P7.4 billion, equivalent to 3.3 per cent of the GDP Mr Nkgakile said, adding that  this was not sustainable.

He said Mogoditshane residents should be given priority in the allocation of residential plots as it was done in Tlokweng where 60 per cent of the plots were reserved for Batlokwa.

Mr Nkgakile said if voted into power, the BPF  would increase Youth Development Fund (YDF) limit from  P100 000 to P1 million and while P10 million would apply where the youths have grouped themselves.ENDS
