01 Oct 2019

Aliance for Progressive (AP) leader Mr Ndaba Gaolathe says it is time for Takatokwane constituents to look unto a new Botswana, which shall be ushered in by his party.

Mr Gaolathe said this during the launch of the party’s parliamentary candidate Mr Jacob Kelebeng and council candidates in Takatokwane.

He said days were gone when inequality was rampant among the rich and the poor and education was for the few.

The time has come for all to be brought on board and be carried along to the promised land, he said.

He urged voters to usher in new leaders who would build a new Botswana that would govern the country with utmost transparency.

In this envisaged government, Mr Gaolathe said people would be employed because of the skills they possessed and not through favouritsm.

The AP president said their party would  transform Botswana’s economy and enhance the vocational education skills and knowledge to drive the transformation.

Mr Gaolathe, who is contesting for Gaborone Bonnington South, said Mr Kelebeng was the right candidature to bring and drive the transformation.

He said the constituency was blessed to have Mr Kelebeng among them as an able young leader who was capable to bring development to the constituency.

The party secretary general Dr Phenyo Butale said he had known Mr Kelebeng during his youthful days at the University of Botswana as he remained active in student politics and proved beyond reasonable doubt to be a leader of repute.Dr Butale urged voters to take Mr Kelebeng to Parlisament as he was capable and could bring change and development to the constituency.

When giving a solidarity message, Advocate Bokang Semuli from Democratic Congress in Lesotho said he had observed that the constituency remained the least developed and the hardest hit by abject  poverty.

He said the lack of development in the constituency showed that  the constituency was not well represented.

For his part, the candidate, Mr Kelebeng said time had come that they make history by electing him an MP§ who would drive the development agenda of the constituency and bring necessary change to the lives of the constituents.Mr Kelebeng said the mining sector, agriculture and tourism had great potential in the constituency and all that was needed was the right leader who could guide the constituents and help them lead better lives.

He said the constituency needed  a railway line that would pass through Kweneng West so that mines could be opened,  especially that they had a coal bed, which could be used to create employment and bring development to the constituency.

He appealed to the constituents to give him a chance in the  October 23 general elections to represent them in Parliament and assured them that they would never regret voting for him. ENDS
