The coordinator of the Bakgalagari pageant, Ntesang Kudumedi says they will host the 5th pageant since its inauguration in 2015.
In an interview after Mr and Miss Bakgalagari pageant semi-finals in Ghanzi where 50 models took part, Kudumedi said they were ready to usher the final in which 14 males and 14 females would battle it out for the king and queen crown in November 30.
The battling ground, he said, would be Bornfemme Gardens along Molepolole road, and that there would be a football tourney at Tsabong grounds in Mogoditshane prior to the grand event.
The Bakgalagari pageant, which brings Bakagalagadi together from all regions such as Kgalagadi, Ghanzi, Kweneng and Ngamiland, he said, had grown in leaps and bounds because of its enthusiasts across the tribal spectrum. He said the overwhelming support proved that there was harmony and diversity in Botswana.
Part of the proceeds accrued from the pageant, he said, would donated to the less privileged, and explained that they had donated to orphans at Kang in the past. He added that they were looking forward to making more impact by donating more back to the community.
Kudumedi also said the reigning queen, Miss Bakgalagari 2018; Rose Kailane from Kweneng would represent the country at the Miss Tourism World in China this month.
He said the queen was chosen through Awaited Model Agency and that she would be the eighth model to be sent to the international pageant by the agency since 2015. ENDS
