Molapo Leisure Gardens host family fun day

29 Aug 2019

Motivation comes in a variety of ways, and for fitness junkies, the period after winter is perfect for shedding a few kilos.

This Saturday, August 31, Molapo Leisure Gardens, a renowned recreation venue, is the place to be as the first northern family fun day and wellness after party kicks off to raise funds for community projects.

Set on the banks of the infamous Tati River, the venue has become the go to place for relaxed fun in the second city as it allows revellers to bring their own camp chairs and boasts of amazing relaxation spots, including big trees for shade to escape the scorching summer sun.

With its quintessential river bank view and sitting on the picturesque grounds of the garden, Molapo is an idyllic and secure site with great facilities.

The family fun day and wellness promises not to be an ordinary affair, but rather, to act as a catalyst that motivates people to get outside, get active, be healthy and be happy.

The charity show has something for everyone, including jumping castles and water slides.

Fitness and music fanatics will have their hands full as the event boasts a packed line-up of artists such as headline act, Skazo and Djs such as Cue Deck, Bunz, Missy, Dolphus and many others.

The northern family fun day and wellness celebrates Francistown’s quest to become Botswana’s healthiest city and endeavours to contribute to the Vision 2036 pillar of a healthy nation.

The event promoter, Tshepo Kefhitilwe a.k.a, Dj Phat-Tee wants to use the event to get people psyched for becoming fitter, healthier, and happier in 2019.

The charity event, he said, sought to herald itself as the largest multi-activity show in Francistown and for those who do not want to break a sweat, the family fun day and wellness would offer the latest advice on fitness and health from professionals.

The event includes a variety of activities such as aerobics, tug of war, five-a-side soccer, quad bikes, horse riding, and culminates in an after party when the children have gone home in the evening.

During the event residents of the country’s second city will get the opportunity to showcase their fitness abilities and get active as a community.

The cherry on top is that the proceeds will be donated to a non-profit organisation, Home of Hope, which assists mentally challenged people. The NGO has been operating for the last three years and the promoter highlighted that their gesture was a way of ploughing back to the community.

“The event is dedicated to improving the community’s health, wellness and recreation opportunities,” said Kefhitilwe.

The all-day event promises to bring together health and fitness enthusiasts, medical experts, fitness clubs, organisations focused on healthy living and nutritionists to promote health awareness and fitness, while having fun.

Dj Phat-Te hoped the event would inculcate a culture of health, fitness and fun.  To partake in this one of a kind event, adults will have to part with P50 early bird or P70 at the gate, while children will pay P30. Ends
