Chobe Enclave West councillor resigns

Chobe Enclave West councillor, Mwanota Kachana has officially resigned from the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).
The announcement was made by the Chobe District Council chairperson, Councillor Paul Chabaesele at the beginning of the full council session on August 26.
Councillor Chabaesele said Councillor Kachana joined the newly formed Botswana Patriotic Front, which increases the number of opposition councillors in the Chobe District Council to two.
The council has had only one opposition councillor, Abraham Sitali of Kazungula Newstance, under the Botswana Congress Party ticket.
Councillor Kachana had lost the BDP primary contest for the parliamentary seat to Mr Machana Shamukuni. ENDS
