Embrace change - prospective MP

26 Aug 2019

Alliance for Progressives (AP) prospective parliamentary candidate for Ramotswa, Mr Boniface Mabeo has pleaded to Serowe South and Serowe North constituents to vote for the party because it is the only alternative for Batswana.

When launching the party’s prospective parliamentary and council candidates for Serowe South and Serowe North on August 25, Mr Mabeo appealed to voters to embrace change.

He said AP would create employment and transform the country’s economy.

With a leader like Mr Ndaba Gaolathe, who is an economist of repute, Mr Mabeo said the party if elected into power, could be trusted to reduce the import bill, which currently stood at P70 billion to P20 billion.

He said the AP also desired to restore Batswana’s lost dignity.
If granted state power, Mr Mabeo said the AP would review the constitution to suit the needs of Batswana.

He was confident that the candidates would work hard to develop the constituencies, which he said were behind in terms of developments.

Mr Mabeo presented Mr Iphemele Kgokgothwane of Serowe South and Mr Ishmael Selebogo of Serowe North as capable candidates who could ensure that their wishes were realised.

He said both Messrs Kgokgothwane and Selebogo had experience that could benefit the country.

Being a retired soldier, he said Mr Kgokgothwane was well versed on security matters while Mr Selebogo was knowledgeable on economic issues as someone who previously managed corporations.

He advised both to respect and listen to the constituents.

Letswapo region vice chairperson, Mr Mookami Mmusi said AP wished to upgrade health facilities by hiring more doctors to reduce the doctor/patient ratio as well as improve internal roads in Serowe.

He said Batswana should be careful in the coming general election and vote the right candidates, noting that AP had capable leaders who could move Botswana forward.

Mr Kgokgothwane pleaded with the electorate to vote for them. He said Serowe lacked infrastructural developments such as roads. Ends
