Kedikilwe urges Batswana to vote BDP

26 Aug 2019

Former vice president, Dr Ponatshego Kedikilwe has appealed to the electorate to vote Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) back into power and its MP elect for Mmadinare constituency in the coming general election.

Dr Kedikilwe requested the electorates during the launch of Mr Molebatsi Molebatsi and councillors in Mmadinare on August 26.

He said the constituency needed an energetic representative who was in tune with the needs and aspirations of voters.

He said Mr Molebatsi’s work experience had prepared him to work at a level he aspired and was ready to serve. “If you elect Mr Molebatsi and his councillors you will be electing a catalyst for transformation in Mmadinare constituency,” he said.

He described Mr Molebatsi as a businessman with vast experience in various portfolios.

He said the BDP was the only party that had ensured peace and stability in the country, and urged Mr Molebatsi and prospective councillors to work as a team to develop Mmadinare constituency.

He stated that Mr Molebatsi and councillors should work closely with dikgosi, land board, Village Development Committees (VDCs), business communities as well as members of the community.

He urged the team to work with other stakeholders through consultation, dignity and Botho. He implored the aspiring MP to work with the ruling government to address challenges of unemployment.

Dr Kedikilwe noted that the BDP has aligned its manifesto with Vision 2036, and that the party and Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi were eager to deliver a knowledge based economy.

He said the BDP government cared for Batswana and was serious about development. He said Dr Masisi was trotting the world inviting investors to help create employment for Batswana.

He said Batswana should vote a party which had been assisting them with programmes to uplift their livelihoods.

He advised Mmadinare constituents to keep their Omang cards and election cards safe and to participate in the coming elections. He stated that elections were critical to forming government.

He urged prospective candidates to make sure they informed and consulted with their electorates after being elected.

Mr Molebatsi promised constituents to work hard to develop the constituency. He refuted allegations that he wanted to cross the floor to Botswana Patriotic Front Party (BPF). Ends
