Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) leader, Advocate Duma Boko has described UDC prospective parliamentary candidate for Good Hope-Mabule Constituency, Dr Patrick Molutsi as a political leader qualified enough to work with the community.

Launching Dr Molutsi on August 4, Advocate Duma said he had no doubt of endorsing him since he had all the attributes of a good leader.

He described Dr Molutsi as a humble man, who is not power hungry, saying voting for him was guarantee of good leadership.

He told the rally that UDC was committed to fighting unemployment by creating 100 000 jobs.  He said the ruling party had impoverished Batswana through the Ipelegeng programme while the government A1 salary scale had impoverished public officers.

Advocate Boko stated that as a leader committed to uplifting the lives of Batswana, he recently offered a mobile car wash business to the youth to generate funds to sustain themselves.

He said such a move was a clear indication of what the UDC would like to do for Batswana.

He also thanked the outgoing UDC MP, Kgosi Lotlaamoreng II for his leadership and for handing over the baton to Dr Molutsi.

He also thanked Barolong for the support they gave the incumbent MP  since 2015.

For his part, Dr Molutsi said that he was ready to lead Barolong and promised to address water, land shortage, stock theft and road challenges in the area.

He promised to advocate for the provision of Wi-Fi for the youth and creation of social centres in the district.

Dr Molutsi said as a UDC prospective parliamentary candidate, he had already started rolling out the party manifesto to the people.

Kgosi Botiki Motshegare praised all political parties, indicating that Batswana were showing their democratic spirit, even though they held different views.

He applauded the existence of opposition parties as they strengthen the country’s democracy.

He also hailed Botswana political parties’ peaceful spirit, indicating that even after losing they accept defeat and give support to the winner.  ENDS
