Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) leader, Advocate Sidney Pilane says under their rule, government will pay medical expenses for all Batswana.
Speaking during his launch as a prospective parliamentary candidate for Gaborone North on Saturday at Ledumang Diamond Freedom Square, Advocate Pilane said if voted into power, his party would provide health facilities of the same standard in the country.
He said it would also ensure that both public schools and English medium schools had the same facilities to level the playing field.
Adv. Pilane also said they would ensure that Ipelegeng was a full time job at a minimum wage of P1 500 per month.
He pointed out that civil servants working conditions should be revised so that they could earn a decent wage and afford good accommodation.
In Gaborone North constituency, he said he would prioritise the provision of street lights and the improvement of the water drainage system.
He said improved internal roads were long overdue in the constituency, adding that sewage ponds that polluted air continued to be a nightmare for Gaborone North residents.
The BMD leader said they believed in equal distribution of resources.
He also paraded his team of councillors and asked the constituents to do the right thing by voting for them.
Advocate Pilane told the rally that BMD was still a member of UDC, saying they could not be removed from the pact which was their brain child.
The BMD prospective parliamentary candidate said during its infancy stage, the BDP did good things for Batswana and the country, but that the same could not be said about the current crop of leaders.
He said the current leaders had lost direction laid down by the BDP founding members and instead were concerned with enriching themselves.
He said the party manifesto was yet to be released.
Different speakers at the launch hailed Adv. Pilane as a good candidate and having a rich portfolio in governance, as he had previously worked with the past administration at an advisory role.
They pointed out that the BMD had the interests of Batswana at heart and reiterated that the leadership would ensure that there was equity for all. ENDS
