President well acquainted with national security procedures

This Office has noted with concern an article in the latest (17/6/18) edition of The Patriot newspaper alleging that security chiefs met recently with His Excellency the President Mokgweetsi Masisi in order to warn him about “close leaks on sensitive national security information.”
In the above context this Office can confirm, that while His Excellency is routinely briefed on national security matters, no such meeting as described in the article took place.
It may be further noted that the President, in his capacity as Commander in Chief, is well acquainted with the protocols governing the handling of national security sensitive matters in accordance with existing processes and procedures. BGCIS
