The Directorate of Intelligence and Security Services (DISS) notes with concern allegations appearing in an article appearing in the front page of the latest (7/4/18) edition of the Weekend Post newspaper, whose headline is “DISS Theatens MPs...”

We wish to once more state for the record that such allegations are both false and absurd. 

Despite rumour mongering by individuals through the media and elsewhere over the years the DISS has never been genuinely implicated in such type of nefarious activities. As was the case with the exposed as fake Tholana Borethe stories the latest allegation that the Directorate would threaten MPs is a fantasy devoid of substance. 

We therefore wish to once reassure members of the public that no amount of misinformation intended to demonise the Directorate, from whatever quarter, will not derail us from performing our legitimate functions to uphold the law and protect the national interest in full compliance with the Intelligence and Security Act of 2007.
