Ministry rebuts allegations on Tati Siding chieftaincy
01 Apr 2018
The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development wishes to respond to The Botswana Gazette article that appeared on the 28th March, 2018 edition under the headline, “Tati Siding residents Criticise Tsogwane for chieftaincy turmoil.”
Contrary to reports that Honourable Slumber Tsogwane, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development is “conniving with disqualified candidate to legitimize him”, the Ministry wishes to note that the Honourable Minister has never stopped nor interfered with any process regarding the Tati Siding chieftainship election.
In this regard, we wish to note that the article is misleading and misrepresenting the views of the Ministry on this matter as the Department of Tribal Administration is working tirelessly on the issue with a view to facilitate the upcoming re-election on Thursday 5th April, 2018. MLG&RD
