Mahalapye to have fire station

Mahalapye is to have a fully-fledged fire station come August this year, says fire services controller for Central District Council.
Mr Whitfield Joshua said in an interview that the intention was to operate from one of the council buildings. He said Japan had donated seven fire extinguisher vehicles to Botswana and one of them was given to Mahalapye, noting that the development would alleviate the problem of fires which constantly caused havoc in the village
Mr Joshua said the fire extinguisher could have long been delivered should it not have been to modifications which were being carried out on it. He further said the Central District boost of advanced fire radio communication system which Mahalapye benefitted from. ENDS
