CDC twinning partnership committee off to China

Central District Council twinning and partnerships committee left for China on a benchmarking visit on Saturday.

Communication from the CDC senior public relations officer, Ms Kesegofetse Mpho states that in Jiujiang the committee that comprises of deputy council chairperson, Mr Ketshwereng Galeragwe is expected to discuss and exchange ideas on twinning partnership, explore possible twinning partnerships, especially on fields of education, culture and trade and strengthen relationships inter alia.

The partnership cooperation between the towns also called town twinning, is a form of long-term international cooperation between local governments consisting of regular meetings between town representatives and their citizens usually supported by an official document (twinning agreement) or a resolution of the communal bodies.

Mr Galeragwe is in the company of chairperson of twinning and partnership committee, Mr Tassman Cebani, council secretary, Mr Mozondick Moswete and principal economist, Mr Anderson Thukuza. The delegation is expected to return on September 15. ENDS
