Gaolatlhe praises supporters

19 Jul 2017

The leader of the other Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) faction, Mr Ndaba Gaolatlhe has praised party members that they were the only group of people Batswana can trust.

In his acceptance speech after being elected president at Bobonong Junior Secondary School (BSS), he said members had shown that they want nothing but the truth, and had demonstrated love and braveness to fight for their movement.

Mr Gaolatlhe urged his followers to introspect and continue to work hard for the growth of the movement, and that they should forget the events that took place in Bobonong so that the movement continued to grow.

He said Batswana were looking on BMD because it was the movement that people believe could save them.

“The new and upcoming generation can trust you, as you have shown that you love things to be done in a manner that is appropriate,” he stated

Mr Gaolatlhe said BMD wants to see the new Botswana, and the current crop of members who believed in themselves.

He also thanked his vice president, Mr Winter Mmolotsi and described him as a soldier who fights and protects the movement with his heart and thanked the new elected National Executive Committee.

He said events indicated that they had taken the correct path, and that Batswana and the international community looked at them for the future for the new country.

Mr Gaolatlhe said he believed in a new Botswana where Batswana would be free and work for themselves to help their families.

For his part, Mr Mmolotsi asked for forgiveness from Batswana and Babirwa for the chaos that erupted at Matshekge when members were denied entry by the other faction.

Mr Mmolotsi said BMD was a party that believed in peace, and that it should not be judged by the events that took place because they were carried out by a few people who had a secret agenda to destroy the movement and cause confusion in the party that enjoys peace.

He thanked BMD members for electing a responsible NEC that would work hard for the good and growth of the party, and hailed those elected as committed and able leaders who would restore the dignity of the party and win Batswana’s confidence.

The vice president appealed to members to continue to support their party even in testing times. BOPA
