DCEC distances itself from DIS shenanigans

The DCEC wishes to respond to the Gazette Newspaper article of Wednesday 21-27 June 2017 entitled ‘DCEC distances itself from DIS shenanigans’. The Newspaper goes on to say the DCEC says they were not party to the ill-advised rebuttal.
The DCEC wishes to set the record straight by confirming that indeed the DCEC was part of the rebuttal. We found that as Government Departments, instead of doing two (2) separate statements of an article, we just do a combined article.
The Newspaper quotes the DCEC Spokesperson, Phakamile Kraai as having said they were not party to the DISS rebuttal. What Mr. Kraai said was that he was still going to confirm with Senior Management and revert back to the journalist.
The journalist went on to publish the article. We find this situation very unfortunate.
