Khama Masisi call for unity

Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) President, Lieutenant General Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama, the party’s chairperson, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi and other members of the central committee on April 7 addressed Francistown region in Tonota.
Briefing the media prior to the closed meeting, the party secretary general, Mr Botsalo Ntuane said the gathering was one of BDP’s processes of checking on the welfare of regions around the country.
He said the party leadership had so far addressed 63 other such meetings since July 2015, with Francistown being 64th in the country and the third to be addressed in the same region.
Mr Ntuane said Francistown region had been unstable for some time, but expressed hope that through such meetings democrats would come up with solutions to their differences and unite.
He said one of the agenda items was to come up with ways to help the party win back Francistown South constituency in the 2019 general elections.
The secretary general further said another objective was to prepare for the party’s elective congress to be hosted by Francistown region, which is made up of Tonota, Francistown East, Francistown West, Francistown South and Tati East constituencies. ENDS
