Kutamogoree welcomes developments

09 May 2016

Residents of Kutamogoree in Nata/Gweta constituency have commended government for development projects that are taking place in their area.

During a kgotla meeting addressed by the area MP, Mr Polson Majaga, recently, Kgosi Motsamai Kgosi said they were pleased to learn that their village would be among those to be electrified in this financial year.

Kgosi Kgosi said such a development was going to change the appearance of Kutamogoree for ever and  improve the business sector; hence opening doors for job opportunities.

He appreciated the opening of a magistrate court and a Botswana Agricultural Marketing Board (BAMB) in Nata saying the establishments were going to ease congestion at the previous establishments.

He noted that people had often been discouraged to visit  BAMB offices in Tutume because of distance and long queues and even issues of transport because unlike it is with Nata, there was no direct transport to Tutume.

Furthermore, he said for one to reach Tutume, they had to connect through Mosetse as the shortest route but it could take hours before one gets a public transport along this route.

The residents complained about the A3 road between Francistown and Nata saying their antikcipation was that the road would be among the projects undertaken this financial year because it had been deferred since 2009.

They said they were convinced that through the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP), the road would be done and that the road would be free of potholes and roaming cattle that cause accidents.

In his response, MP Majaga said he would liaise with the Department of Roads regarding the residents’ complainants about the A3 road. However, he appealed to farmers to do their part as well by herding their livestock away from the road as they also ledd to accidents, which take people’s lives away. ENDS
