Kudos to stakeholders for developing Palapye
15 Dec 2014
Palapye sub-council chairperson, Mr Lesedi Phuthego, has commended stakeholders for partnering with the council to bring developments in Palapye.
Speaking during the chairperson’s ball, Mr Phuthego said he appreciated the role played by the business sector and parastatals for their commitment to develop Palapye.
He said different businesses organisations had played a role in the growth of Palapye in various ways citing Botswana International University of Science and Technology for providing blocks for the pavement of the road to the university.
Mr Phuthego said Morupule coal mine and Botswana Power Corporation too contributed positively to the development of Palapye. He said with the little budget allocated to the council, his organisation would not be able to develop Palapye.
Mr Phuthego further said the demand and standard of the council matches that of a town council hence the high pressure to develop Palapye, adding that it also calls for the council to partner with stakeholders to bring more developments to Palapye.
He also commended employees from both Central and Local Government for the job well done in executing the mandate of the council and the government at large.
Government, he said has invested a lot on employees in terms of skills development and expects effective service delivery to serve the nation. He urged employees to protect this investment by taking care of themselves during the festive season. ENDS
