President Lt Gen Seretse Khama Ian Khama says Batswana should not trust opposition parties because they are all desperate and unfit to rule.

Speaking during the launch of the Serowe West Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) parliamentary candidate Mr Tshekedi Khama in Serowe on Friday, September 12, President Khama said opposition parties only exist to stir trouble and disturb the peace that prevails in the country.

The President said BDP is the only party which has the interest of Batswana at heart and urged residents to cast their votes in favour of the BDP.

He said the opposition has labelled democrats as corrupt and fraudsters but to date the BDP has not disappointed Batswana, as evidenced by how the country has progressed and developed well.

President Khama said was ready to move Botswana forward and promised to serve country diligently by   bringing in new and well thought initiatives which would improve people’s lives.

President Khama said Batswana need not forget this as they go to cast their votes because these initiatives are meant for all the Batswana wherever they are in the country.

He also advised those who attended the launch to know who they are and not to stay far from God as he is the one who cares and protects all.

He also urged BDP members to stay true to themselves and serve the party whole heartedly without having any reservations.

He pleaded with all registered BDP members who thronged the launch to go and vote so that they do not give any opposition party a chance to rule this country.

President Khama said they would want to win all constituencies with big margins so that opposition parties and independent candidates do not stand a chance of going to parliament.

For his part, Mr Tshekedi Khama said he was ready to take on the constituency and promised good excellent service delivery.

He applauded all those who made the day a success and appealed to the BDP members to go and vote in large numbers so that they win the constituency again. ENDS
