Saleshando launches Stegling

11 Sep 2014

The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) leader, Mr Dumelang Saleshando has encouraged Moshupa electorates to vote for Mr Benny Stegling as their  parliamentary candidate on October 24.

Mr Saleshando said this during the launch of the BCP prospective parliamentary candidate for Moshupa/Manyana, Mr Stegling and the council candidates.

He said BCP was ready to rule and address problems facing the country such as poor education, unemployment, poverty, poor health facilities including shortage of medicine in hospitals, water shortage and poor roads construction.

If given the mandate to rule on October 24, Mr Saleshando said BCP would create employment for Batswana through constructing beef industries where cattle products would be processed. He said diamonds would also be polished in Botswana therefore creating jobs for Batswana.

He said the BDP for the past 48 years had failed to develop Moshupa, hence the need for voters to elect BCP candidates. Under the BCP government, he said, pre-schools would be introduced in primary schools to improve education from the grassroots.

Mr Saleshando claimed that government funds had been misused in the construction of residential plot at Mosu and purchasing of new aircrafts.

Speaking at the event, Mr Phagenyana Phage who is a prospective parliamentary candidate for Lentsweletau/Mmopane constituency told electorates that when elected, BCP would improve the living conditions of public servants.

Another speaker, the BCP Mogoditshane parliamentary aspirant, Mr Chiliboy Rakgare said youth had changed their mindset and willing to vote for opposition parties in the coming general elections.

He said Moshupa residents were unfortunate because they had long been promised a hospital but instead the government constructed Boys Prison.

Another speaker, the Kanye North prospective parliamentary candidate, Mr Kentse Rammidi, criticised the current government programmes, saying they had failed beyond reasonable doubt, particularly backyard gardening due to water shortage.

For his part, Rev. Stegling said the ruling BDP had failed to develop Moshupa/Manyana constituency, noting that the only party capable of making a change was the BCP with its visionary leadership. He said the BDP failed to construct the long promised hospital in Moshupa which was in the national development plan.

Rev Stegling criticised Mr Masisi for not working jointly with dikgosi in Moshupa, which resulted in causing friction between local authorities in the district. He said the construction of a kgotla shelter was at stand still due to non-existence of funds to finish it.

He requested Moshupa electorates to vote in large numbers to change the current government, which had failed to improve the education system.

Rev. Stegling called on voters to ignore other political parties and cast votes for the BCP, which is ready to lead. ENDS
