Boko promises quality leadership

09 Sep 2014

Leader of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) Mr Duma Boko has assured the electorate of Letlhakeng–Lephepe constituency of appropriate and quality leadership if accorded chance to lead the area.

Officially launching Letlhakeng-Lephepe aspiring MP, Mr Gordon Mokgwathi and six council candidates at Sojwe over the weekend, the UDC leader said he was not doubtful of the calibre of individuals he was selling to Letlhakeng-Lephepe voters.

He said unless Letlhakeng-Lephepe constituents showed commitment towards voting for its candidates to administer party programmes, the area would continue to experience setbacks on issues of development.

Mr Boko warned electorates against voting for individuals whose focus was mainly on driving own interests at the expense of most Batswana. “Give us chance to rule this nation,” Mr Boko highlighted.

Mr Boko expressed optimism over the fact that Batswana had since shown commitment in the UDC and called on the electorate to rally behind its representation in the area to enable them deliver according to expectations. “It is through your constant support that the elected candidates can deliver as promised.”

He said through quality representation under Mr Mokgwathi and his team he was hopeful that the area will achieve its intended goal and be able to address issues of great importance aimed at rooting-out impediments affecting developments.

The area, as he stated, requires serious action by serious people to improve on. He said his party was ready to bring change to lives of people in the constituency through sustainable programmes meant to address issues of poverty among those in need. “UDC is serious about its intentions of developing Batswana if entrusted with the responsibility to lead.”

The Molepolole North aspiring MP Mr Mohammed Khan also called on Batswana to trust UDC for it is a party of disciplined leadership ready to root out social ills such as the increasing crime rate due to the high rate of unemployment fueled by the declining economy that he said resulted from BDP’s lack of vision.

Mr Filbert Nagafela of Takatokwane constituency said there was no doubt that electing Mokgwathi and his team of councillors would be the best thing the electorate would have done, adding that his competence was proved the last time he was elected Letlhakeng East constituency MP.

UDC’s Women’s Wing President Mrs Ivory Keekee advised electorate in the Letlhakeng-Lephepe of the fact that the UDC project has serious intentions and emphasised that it can only achieve its objectives through the support of Batswana.

Mr Mokgwathi promised to represent the Letlhakeng-Lephepe constituents with great respect and ensured them that voting for him will help them get the best taste of proper representation the area needed.  ENDS
