Arones credentials speak volumes - Gobotswang

09 Sep 2014

Botswana Congress Party (BCP) deputy leader, Dr Kesitegile Gobotswang has urged electorates to vote for Okavango prospective parliamentary candidate, Mr Bagalatia Arone as he has fought for their rights during his just ended term as their MP.

Dr Gobotswang said Mr Arone had proved to be a capable leader who had people’s concerns at heart and his credentials spoke volumes.

The youthful representative, he said, had advocated for issues affecting the whole nation in his role as chairperson of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Education Committee.

For his part, BCP prospective parliamentary candidate for Chobe, Mr Gibson Nshimwe urged voters to vote for Mr Arone, who is Minister of Basic Education under the BCP shadow cabinet.

Furthermore, he noted that Mr Arone showed his leadership skills by advocating for Shakawe Senior secondary school students to go back to school after they failed their examinations last year.

He said the idea came from the BCP not the ruling party.

Mr Nshimwe mentioned that the BCP manifesto is clear about the need to invest in providing free and compulsory basic education and gave an example that three-year-olds would be enrolled to prepare them while still young.

He said the ruling party has failed Batswana and it was time for the BCP to be given the opportunity to lead.

BCP prospective parliamentary candidate for Okavango, Mr Bagalatia Arone informed the electorates that he needs no introduction as his results as an MP have proven him as a capable leader. He said during his term he has advocated for services to be brought to the people of his constituency.

He said he was a firm believer in quality education and criticised the ruling party for poor school results. ENDS
